Coombe Yarra Valley Estate was established in the late 1800’s. It was the home of Dame Nellie Melba.
Helen ‘Nellie’ Porter Mitchell – Dame Nellie Melba was well known in late 1800s – early 1900s as one of Australia’s most famous opera singers. At the top of her success she was recognised as ‘the most famous woman in the world’.
Nellie Melba built Coombe Cottage in 1912. After that she was visiting Australia regularly. Nellie Melba was also teaching singers at the Melbourne Conservatory. Nellie Melba continued to perform as a singer until the last months before her death in 1931.
The Coombe Farm Winery Yarra Valley established its wine brand in 2002. The Coombe Farm cellar door was opened in 2007. This new ‘Farm’ cellar door at Coombe has its own charm and atmosphere.
Since 2007 the Coombe Farm Winery Yarra Valley cellar door has become one of the most popular cellar doors in the Yarra Valley.

Coombe Farm Wines cellar door offers guests a wide range of wines for tasting. You can enjoy delicious Coombe Farm wines grown in the estate vineyards. Relax among the vines at the cellar door. There is also a retail shop.
