Puffing Billy Tourist Train

You will enjoy the journey with more than 100 years old steam train. These trains still serve passengers on their original narrow gauge track from Belgrave to Gembrook. It is running with the help of more than 900 dedicated volunteers.

Puffing Billy trains move you through the unique and fascinating forest. This rainforest is around 150 million years old. That is the oldest jungles in the world with giant eucalypts in excess of 100 m in height. This type of eucalyptus is called “Mountain Ash”.

Also, within the forest, you can see many up to 10-12 m high fern trees. That is one of the oldest specimens on Earth existing for more than 300 millions years!

The Dandenong Ranges are Melbourne’s lungs. The forests of mountain ash and ferns with lyrebirds, parrots and kangaroos, waterfalls and shady walks.

The observation deck offers panoramic views of the Dandenong Ranges National Park and Melbourne.

There are bird watching areas where you can see sulphur crested cockatoos, crimson rosellas, eastern rosellas and kookaburras. As of february 2020 bird feeding is not allowed in the Dandenong Ranges National Park.

Yarra Valley is a wine growing cool-climate region, perfect for cultivating Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and sparkling wines using méthode traditionnelle.

There is more than 80 vineyards plus some 60 cellar doors that you can visit. We offer 3 or 4 select wineries, best in their field and renowned around the world.

You will explore the wine production process, the history of wine making in the region and enjoy a gourmet lunch if you choose to do so.
